The Plumett AL50 Air Launcher is in service with the armed forces of more than 20 countries. It is designed to be used for covert amphibious operations when it is necessary to get access to ships or platforms using a climbing rope or ladder.
It can be used to throw a lightweight aluminium grapnel with an 8mm climbing rope, or a 15 metre rope ladder.
It is submersible to a depth of 10 metres and has neutral buoyancy.
The double skinned barrel incorporates a silencer and the use of compressed air means that there is no flash or heat signature.
